Here is an update on my weight loss my current status and a question I hope someone can answer. My surgery was 4yrs ago. I was 230 lbs and I went down to 175 lbs in the first 12 months. My weight was fairly stable at 185 for 24 months. Now I am back up to 195. I know the problem is my lack of excercise since I changed my work. I used to be on my feet for 12 hours a day. Now I sit at my computer for 12 hrs a day at home and even though I am not eating much more I have been steadily gaining weight. Also my energy level is very low, and most recently the problem also has manifested itself as constipation. I heard of a product that is a natural colon cleanse that works slowly not like pharmaceutical laxatives. The natural product also claims to give you increasesd energy because natural nutrients from our diets are better absorbed because our colons are free from all of the poisions in our system. My question is: Is there any advantage to doing a natural colon cleanse? Are there any negative side-effects? Since our surgery by-passes a part of the small intestine are we still holding a lot of waste in our large intestine? Please e-mail your answers. Thank you Brett3959@yahoo.com

I'am over a year past my gastric bypass and my hair is really shedding and is very thin. I have lost 100 pounds and feel great. My iron was somewhat low and I took iron pills and now it is normal again. How long will this hair loss last? I eat really healthy and take vitamins daily. Do I need special vitamins? Thanks

the lap-band is not a gastric bypass in ANY way. Your information about the band is correct, but it doesn't include any sort of mal-absorptive component, so it is not a bypass.
